February Tips
Cultural tips for late chrysanthemums
Well here we are in February early struck cuttings will be well rooted by now.
Insert further cuttings of late - flowering incurves, reflexes and intermediates;
and the first batch of Earlies
Potting on the newly rooted cuttings,
The important requirement is clean pots and properly prepared compost.
I use 3 ½ inch clay pots, after taking the cuttings out of the rooting trays.
After potting, place on the unheated staging and then add the label.
thereafter water will be given when really needed.
Protect from sun and frost.
Compost Mix The compost per bushel for 3 ½ inch pots is as follows; 7 parts Loam, 3 parts Peat, 2parts perlite, or sharp sand, To each bushel add 2oz vitax Q4, 2oz Fish meal, 4oz Seagold.
